Why do we need a CRM maintenance or support contract?

Strictly speaking, you don't.  However, this depends on whether a) you want to be doing CRM customisation and b) if not, whether you have someone in house who can do it for you.

A CRM project is never really ‘over’.  We guarantee once you start using the system in full you will be thinking of numerous cool ways to use the tool to improve your business.

Your CRM will always be evolving. If you are a small company and do not have this expertise in house, we suggested a support package.  It is to support you, not the software.
 
‘Maintenance’ would consist of additional customisation.  Eg. here are some requests we have had in the last week from other support clients:

“I would like the sales people to be able to add mileage on their meeting records so I can track expenses”

“I want to see a report of all products sales by reps in this location”

“I want to see closed won sales trends over the last 6 month by this team”

“I want an email to be sent to the production manager notifying him when a quote has been sent so he knows whether to increase production…”

… these are all possible to do, but not with standard functionality.  It is impossible to think of everything you may need before you implement a CRM, that’s why they are such good tools, because they enable you to evolve and grow your business. It is best to be flexible and evolve with them.
